ZCZC RTTY01
QST de K7TTY
HoffNet Memorial AutoStart Net
From Bill Bytheway, K7TTY
Renton, WA ^D ^U
To all radio amateurs

This QST bulletin and signal beacon will be repeated every
half hour as a pre-curser to establishing a RTTY presence
on this frequency. The HOFFNET has been created in honor
of Irv Hoff, W6FCC, a true pioneer of RTTY.

The goal is to have an autostart net that is friendly to
mechanical Teletype machines. If you have past experience
with RTTY you may be familiar with the autostart operations
that occurred on 80M and 20M back in the '60s and '70s. The
idea is that starting up something similar will encourage
more RTTY activity, plus it will be a place people can run
their old machines.

The specifications for operations are:
Frequency: 10.137300 MHz for mark
Shift: 170Hz, space below mark
Modulation: Baudot code, 60WPM (45.45 baud)

WWW.RTTY.COM has been established to focus on the many
aspects of Amateur Radio Teletype (RTTY) and to present
to the dedicated RTTY'er, and to the curious, a location
wherein one can find information relating to RTTY and
BAUDOT communications. Anyone and everyone who has ever had
any interest or participation in Amateur RTTY is encouraged
to frequent WWW.RTTY.COM. Your comments and suggestions are
solicited so that the best possible utilization of this
website can be implimented.
